Custom-made metal gears specifically fitted to your lens
Overview
I offer custom gear manufacturing for cine lens setups.
All gears are machined from high-grade aerospace aluminum.
The gear teeth are cut to 0.8 module (standard cine pitch), ensuring full compatibility with professional follow focus systems.
Each gear features six mounting screws, providing a secure and stable attachment to the lens.
An optional upgrade is available: mounting screws with plastic tips to prevent marking or damaging the lens surface.
All gears are anodized, which protects the aluminum and allows you to choose from different color options.
I keep a small selection of ready-made gears in stock (you can view them here), but I primarily specialize in custom gears manufactured to your exact dimensions.
How to place an order
Please provide the following three measurements in millimeters:
The outer diameter of the lens at the exact location where the gear will be installed.
The desired outer diameter of the gear.
The desired gear width (thickness).
Measurement guidelines
To ensure accurate fitment, please follow these simple recommendations:
Measuring tool
Use a caliper for measurement, preferably a digital caliper.
Measurement format
Provide the exact value shown on the measuring tool, accurate to one decimal place.
Always round up to the nearest tenth of a millimeter.
Example: if the measurement shows 61.35 mm, specify 61.4 mm.
Ring irregularities
Take several measurements from different sides. This helps avoid fitment issues if the lens ring is slightly out of round.
If the values differ slightly, choose the largest measurement.
Installation area
Make sure no other lens components interfere with installation.
Choose the area with the largest consistent diameter.
Double-check
Verify all measurements once again before sending them.
